Preparation
Feeling the urge for a unique Caprese? A stuffed mozzarella dish is the perfect way to creatively present one of the most traditional summer dishes. For a light and Mediterranean-inspired lunch, you can enhance your dining experience with authentic and straightforward ingredients, arranged attractively. A tender mozzarella base is filled with a flavorful center of sweet cherry tomatoes, lightly seasoned with oregano, olive oil, and fresh basil. To elevate the flavor of this mozzarella base, you might also consider adding olives! This dish pairs well with a crisp salad or grilled vegetables for a refreshing yet filling lunch!
To make the stuffed mozzarellas, first cut off the top of each mozzarella to create a cavity
- cut the tops into cubes and set them aside
- Place the hollowed mozzarellas in a colander with the cavity facing down to drain excess water. Wash and quarter the tomatoes
- and place them in a bowl where you will also add most of the mozzarella cubes
- the rest should be set aside, they will be used for garnishing. Season with olive oil
- salt, and pepper
- dry oregano
- and finally fresh basil leaves for fragrance
- Stir to mix
- stuff the mozzarellas with this filling
- place some of the reserved mozzarella cubes on top
- and serve your fresh and tasty stuffed mozzarellas!
How to use
You can store the stuffed mozzarella for up to 1 day in the refrigerator, covered with plastic wrap.
Freezing is not recommended.
